murdered mother
GERMANTOWN, Md. (WJZ)
His mother Jane McQuain was found dead inside her bedroom Wednesday night in the 13100-block of Briarcliff Terrace. At the same time, police realized her son was missing. The 51-year-old may have foreshadowed her own death.
McQuain’s estranged husband, 45-year-old Curtis Lopez, is charged with her murder.
In a chilling new revelation, McQuain’s ex-boyfriend told reporters she feared something bad could happen to her. That she was worried about her safety after Lopez recently came back into her life.
“You have to have a key to get in that door, and I kept hearing him going in the door,” a neighbor being identified as “Sis” said.
McQuain’s neighbor says Lopez had been visiting for several days, even driving her car around.
Police found that Honda CRV and Lopez outside a Charlotte, N.C. Econo Lodge.
A witness watched it unfold.
“They told me to grab my daughter,” she said. “I sat in the lobby, and I came back. I seen the dude getting arrested.”
Pennsylvania records show Lopez was in prison from 1987 to 2000, when he was released on parole.
Now, he’s back in police custody, but investigators are not revealing what if anything he’s saying about the boy’s whereabouts.
William hasn’t been to class at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School since Sept. 30.
“I hope he hasn’t killed him,” Sis said. “I swear to God I do. I hope they haven’t. Oh God.”
Close friends say Lopez and McQuain were married for 12 years, but they split up in 2007.
Police say they’ve shifted all their energy to finding William McQuain. He’s described as being 5 feet and weighs 85 pounds. They are not revealing what Lopez is saying about the boy’s whereabouts.
