We put about 2 Tablespoons of milk in the caramel, then nuke the fuckers. Then we let the caramel cool down (so it isn't runny like Diarrhea). Let it thicken just a bit as it cools.

We also throw the apples in the freezer for about 20 minutes so when you coat them, the caramel tends to cool quickly to the apple!

I did think of freezing the apples first, but I thought they might sweat. Thanks for the tip. I usually do just buy them, because i don't need a dozen caramel apples in front of me!! I indulge in a few each Fall at one of those crowded, annoying apple/craft festivals.
