The only soulution would have been to report the activity, and then quit if they didn't do something about it and then go to the media.
It's a tough spot to be in but sometimes a person has to stand up or they get counted with the other ones who are doing the shitty deed.
If the jury has any sense and he can prove he reported it he could end up cleared.
