I try to buy gifts that are not practical, but are something the receiver will love. My daughter wants both a slow cooker and a fondue pot. So I'll buy the fondue pot, because I know she will never buy it for herself. My sister is an author and loves to write, so I bought her a hand-crafted pen from one of my friends who makes pens and things as a hobby.
Macys will have small appliances on sale on the dreaded day.
7 qt. slow cookers for $9.99 after $10 rebate...usually $29.99.
Not sure about a fondue pot as I was not looking for that.
