Closing statements today in penalty phase. Each side given two hours. I thought the prosecution did a great job of showing JK & SH expected a confrontation with family based on what they brought with them, JK as ringleader and active participant rather than mere accessory to Hayes, and that JK had many opportunities to turn the situation around and save the family, the depraved nature of his crimes (raping Michaela), and talking about the sheer terror the girls must have experienced as gasoline was being poured over them.
Defense is going through JK's life from the time of his adoption (I bet the jury is sick of this) and portraying JK as a damaged individual. Defense isn't finished - lunch break.
