Kentucky church BANS interracial marriages!!
#55
Separation of church and state. Opponents of gay marriage argue that churches will be required to marry gay couples even if it flies in the face of their religion (and they use that as a scare tactic to encourage people to vote against legalizing gay marriage).

I think gay marriage ought to be legalized but I also think religions ought to be allowed to determine who they will marry in their churches.

I couldn't get married in a Catholic church because I'm not Catholic. Period.

If the church has a religious basis for not conducting bi-racial marriages, so be it as long as legally, those two people can be married and their marriages recognized under state/federal laws. Sorry, but they need to ascribe to a religion that accepts biracial marriage if they want to get married in a church. If they can't, go to the county courthouse.

You don't force a religion to accept contraception or something else that violates their beliefs. Similarly, churches shouldn't be required to marry two people that (as illogical as it may seem to many) violate their religious beliefs.
