If I step on your foot, I will apologize. If I spill your drink, I will apologize. But if I'm telling you like it is, and you need to be told like it is? Then no. I wasn't even necessarily bitchy, I didn't even drop the F-bomb. I was just a little loud on what he could do with his thinly veiled advice.
But here's the thing. Now he's all sulky and pouty, like a kid who got scolded and refuses to speak to me, even about work. All throwing shit and slamming his door and stomping down the hall. Ohhhh boooooo-hoooooo, the mean scary lady across the hall yelled at me....wwwaaahhhh.....It's all I can do not to crack up.
I think this post stands for itself.
It is harder to fire welfare-to-work program participants, and the employer gets a tax break, so I'm sure they told the guy to stay away from the crazy bitch and just not talk to her anymore. It's good managment.
Refusing to apologize only harms your karma. I would keep a lid on my drink for the next month or so, though, in case he decides to hock one in your coffee or stick his weiner in your Mt. Dew.
