I can't get my head around this...
"But if a woman's employer is a charity or a hospital that has a religious objection to providing contraceptive services as part of their health plan. The insurance company -- not the hospital, not the charity -- will be required to reach out and offer the woman contraceptive care free of charge without co-pays, without hassle."
It's not like an employer (any employer) typically has their own pharmacy on site and they're handing out b/c. I don't get this. He's still saying the insurance company that a Catholic employer chooses will have to provide contraception, right? How is that different than saying the "employer" has to provide the contraception? I suppose because b/c isn't part of the plan. And how can you require insurance companies to give away free b/c? I guess because we're going to pay them to do it.
Ha! I answered my own questions while I was typing that.
Like I said before, I agree with Duchess about getting b/c to low income individuals (hell it should be mandatory if you're on welfare) but if I were Catholic, I'm not sure I'd be endorsing this "compromise" either.
