Well, having some fun with drugs when you're 18 sounds pretty average/normal for a lot of people. No problem. But, being 18 and already having a history of addiction, rehab and troubling behavior very similar to that of your mother (with whom, by all accounts, the daughter was attached at the hip) who just died from her addictions is sad to me. I don't see the similarities in your situations, but maybe I am sappy or puritanical. Still find it sad for the girl.
