Jesus. The guy obviously snapped and of course because he snapped, we need to start throwing around blame (he shouldn't have been redeployed because of his head injury, he shouldn't have been deployed as often, and while we're at it, alcohol was involved so we might as well question the use of alcohol on base...). The list goes on and on and some of it may be true. However, I think the guy should be tried like anybody else in the army and if he gets a lighter sentence (or sentenced to some psychiatric facility) so be it. There's not much we can do about Afghan's opinions about us but because the Taliban is out there killing Afghan citizens, it doesn't mean we can just excuse one of our own doing the same. Not all Afghan's are members of the Taliban.
Suppose one of the relatives of those killed snapped and started killing Americans. How would that go over?
