1.) Provide for your kids in a safe environment.
2.) Make sure they get an education.
3.) Raise a good citizen. You will have to monitor their drug use and friends.
4.) Enforce reasonable rules to keep your children from harm.
5.) Punish if you have to, encourage and model good behavior even though nobody makes you.
6.) Know where your kids are.

The short way:

1.) Blame whitey if you don't feel like doing all the work yourself.
