High School Teacher abandons family for student

When I was in grade school I was struck off the top of a galvanized steel slide during recess. The bolt hit the top of my head, ground out through my left hand (holding the rail), blew my shoes off and dropped me sideways off the slide into the pea gravel. I was pretty badly burned on the palm of my hand where I was holding the handrail. I don't remember any pain, but I do recall a very strong, bright flash of light. When I sat up the yard lady was running toward me screaming. I remember being very concerned that I'd done something wrong and was in trouble.

I still have both legs BTW.
