That's not necessarily what happened. Upon hearing of his indictment, Zimmerman (or his agent) could have notified LE of his whereabouts. (That's what I assumed had happened.)
The way I heard/read it, he was bugging the new Inquisitor after she was hired, which was why she didn't need to convene a grand jury. It "appears" to have been all worked out behind the scenes.
:sigh: so much media bs has muddied everything up.
