I'm confused. With that amount of money pouring in (200k?) how could the lawyer be the first to know. This stuff makes less and less sense as it stumbles along. If he had 200k in the bank, why was he saying he was indigent?

Nothing confusing about it, donations have been coming in, the amount may or may not have been 200k at the time of the hearing and z may or may not have known exactly how much it was. He was obligated to disclose it, but might not have known that either. If the lawyer didn't know about it he couldn't disclose it to the court. Paypal like any other bank is obligated to report transactions over $5k. If they did or didn't you will not know, its not public record.
I doubt there will be significant repercusions, the judge may require a higher bond contribution as may his bond holder
