I grew up with dobermans my whole life. My grandpa bred and raised them. Everyone in the whole family had dobies. They're usually very close and protective to one person...in our case, it was my mom because she trained them. We couldn't even joke around with her and pretend we were wrestling and that dog would be right there growling with a warning to back off. Still, none of us were ever bit or attacked. One neighbor girl was bit because she was taunting our dog, and as far as I'm concerned, she deserved it because she was warned over and over not to mess with the dog.
There's no thread in here or anywhere else that I've seen about dobies, rotts, german shepherds or any other breed attacking or killing people. A few isolated incidents I'm sure, but not weekly or daily like with the pits.
After all these stories, and many more to come, anyone who has a pitbull around a child is nuts.
