Police: Owner to be charged after German shepherd attacks child
Friendswood Police believe that the quick intervention of neighbors during a dog attack on a child may have prevented more serious injuries.
Police say two dogs, a German shepherd and a Doberman Pinscher got out of the backyard of a house in the 500 block of Meadow Bend Drive on Wednesday evening (March 28).
One witness saw the German shepherd knock a young girl down and start biting her.
Another witness in a nearby home heard the girl screaming. He ran out and saw the German shepherd attacking the child.
The neighbors were able to stop the attack.
When a police officer arrived, he saw the girl covered in blood with bite marks on her arms, legs and buttocks.
Friendswood EMS took the child to the hospital, where she was treated and released.
