No good attorney would advise his client to take an LE-administered polygraph, imo. The attorney doesn't know for sure if the client is lying or telling the truth; too risky. Even if the client is being truthful, he could still fail the fallible poly and it would look really bad in the court of public opinion, which Zimmerman's attorneys are using strategically via media right now. The fact that there was no one present to refute Zimmerman's versions of events works in his favor, whether he's lying or telling the truth.
Edit: Re: MS's post above: IF Z took an early poly based on what LE originally believe happened and passed, then almost certainly he won't be advised to take another.
