Mom Punishes her Daughter using Facebook

I saw this the other day. I'm not into humiliation as a way to make a point but I didn't have a problem with the dad who fired away at his daughters laptop, matter of fact I liked it. Speaking only for myself I think it's awful for a parent to humiliate their children in order to stress a point, surely there is a better way.
