TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
More than 550 pages relating to the Isabel Celis case were released Thursday.
Last seen on Friday, April 20, Isabel was believed to have disappeared from her room sometime after 11 p.m. that evening.
As the search for 6-year-old Isabel continues past the one month mark, police have not named any suspects or ruled anyone out. Police say they have obtained more than 1,000 tips.
The documents include write-ups from detectives as they responded to these tips, as well as evidence collected and locations searched throughout the course of the investigation.
Specifics on forensic evidence collected from the day Isabel was reported missing are described. One detective wrote, "I used a forensic light source to search the middle east bedroom of the residence for any bodily fluids." The official also photographed footprints in the alleyway south of the Celis home and "several shoe impressions on top of an electrical box located directly behind the residence."
In one of the documents, a scenario is described where a man informed a detective, while at a Bruegger's Bagels near the Celis home, that he coached baseball with Sergio Celis and that he 'knows him well.' The detective's write up continues; "(The man) went on to say that something didn't seem right about what was going on and alluded that he believed that the father was involved in some way."
UPDATE: What exactly was taken from the home is revealed in the documents, including Isabel's hairbrush and toothbrush. The window where the screen was removed was swabbed for DNA. Also, one of the documents states, "Overall interior views of the residence including views of items of evidence as marked by detectives on scene and overall views of the middle east bedroom including views of apparent blood on the floor."
Taken from a car at the residence was a white hat and a vinyl shower curtain. The items had "dark red-brown or brown stains." Tests were not performed on scene of the shower curtain because "it was decided to keep the item close to its original condition and allow crime lab personnel to screen the shower curtain for possible evidence if deemed necessary."
UPDATE: One detective reported a positive Luminol reason on the "driver's seat of the Toyota Corolla," that was at the residence. Luminol is used in forensic investigations to identify traces of blood.
On the third day of Isabel's disappearance, an investigator responded to Highland Park over a report of a child's sandals found in a garbage can that were subsequently collected as evidence.
One detective reported on April 26 that he went to "3314 E. Benson Highway regarding the report of a phone call at a payphone claiming to have the missing little girl and if police did not respond in ten minutes he would kill her." The officer responded and did not see anyone near the payphone or in the immediate area.
Multiple potential sightings were reported including one from the Tivoli Gardens Restaurant in Surprise, AZ. A person notified police saying, "A stocky man in his middle or late 30's was more or less dragging a small girl fitting the description of (Isabel) out of the Tivoli Gardens. I held the exit/front door open for them, but thought it a bit unusual...the little girl was essentially dragged out by the hand before she could respond to my salutation."
Tucson News Now has also learned that officers utilized air searches, canvassing the area from Speedway, 22nd Street, Swan Road and Wilmot Road at an altitude of 300 to 500 feet.
Scores of evidence were collected around southern Arizona including a multicolored blanket on an Interstate 10 ramp off the Irvington exit and a doll lying in front of a person's home.
Psychic tips were also followed up by police. One psychic from British Columbia claimed Isabel was "on the second floor of a U-shaped complex at 10th/Lenora behind Tucson Collect and AZ babies."
Another psychic told investigators, "Please check the sex abuser five doors down searching his trash, his barbeque pit and his freezer."
The full PDF of the documents will be available by Friday afternoon.
