Most of the people I'd recommend aren't well known but I believe they will be proven more correct than most. I know I'm going to leave out someone important so please don't consider this comprehensive. Most are alternative thinkers because they are more likely to be right.

Laird Scranton (there's something here but I don't know what)
Chris Dunn (this guy has it nailed but we're not sure what he nailed)
Steven Myers (has a brand new book out) (it's wrong but very smart)
Archae Solenhofen (very knowledgeable)
Scott Creighton (another new book) (a little less wrong)
Chris Jordan (I'm not sure what to make of this) (surely not entirely wrong)
Carlos (no book yet)
JA West (I'm not very familiar here)

I'm very sorry to say there isn't a single orthodox thinker whom I can recommend except those who specialize. There are a few unknowns for whose opinion I have great respect but none of the writers. Kent Weeks and Flinders Petrie are OK but only because they keep their opinions out of their work, or try. Of course some of the "standards" are written by orthodoxy.

There are dozens I'm forgetting right now. I rarely write lists of people just for this reason.

No one believes me the the answer is in the Pyramid Texts.

When you understand this you'll know everything the ancients knew right up until the early bronze age in 2750 BC.
