San Bernadino in Southern California has filed city bankruptcy. Stockton, in Northern California, filed bankruptcy a couple of weeks back. It's the largest city to do so (300,000 pop). Mammoth Lakes, California is now voting on whether to file bankruptcy. Discouraging.
On July 6th, Governor Brown announced that the So Cal / Nor Cal high speed rail system that voters approved in 2008 was passed by the state legislature. He's contends that it creates jobs and modernizes our state’s rail transportation system. "The Legislature took bold action today that gets Californians back to work and puts California out in front once again.”
Gawd, I hope things turn around soon.
