Are you the type that would pull over to help those in distress?

Yep, I am, although I've grown wary of situations that could be set-ups, you know, like the classic car break-down in the middle of nowhere at 11pm and stuff like that.
As for hitchhikers, I've lived in the same area for decades, so I kind of know those who hitch-hike regularly and won't hesitate to pick them up. Same with women, known to me or not - when I find them walking alone after dark or in deserted areas, I usually stop to ask if they need a ride. Been in that kind of situation myself too many times to not do it. And if it's gonna bite me in the ass some day, then so be it.
