I have 4 and since I never had biochildern, they are my children.
I would say I am about 95% responsible. My beloved Stray Jack can NOT be contained inside a fence. He used to stay with my Mom during the days but since she got sick last Spring, I try to keep him inside during the days. I have been sick myself for about 6 weeks and have not been able to walk 4 dogs in the mornings (even though 2 of them stay outside most the day inside our fenced in backyard) so when I let the Pack out in the mornings, if I don't stay out there, Stray Jack is out and over the fence in less than 30 seconds. He normally meets a neighbor friend dog and they run for a couple of hours. My landlord usually lets him back in the house by 11:00am. Stray Jack is a lover, not a fighter and I have many pictures of him from text and /or facebook inside different neighbor houses.
I have a wonderful Cousin that watches out for them during the day and brings the others inside when it gets too hot or cold.
My Boxer is on daily meds. My Beagle is now on 2X a day ear washes and eardrops. My newest Pack member was dognapped from a horrible neighbor that didn't check on him for 4 days when he got out and we put him in our backyard. He is sadly heart worm + but we are trying to treat it best for him and his situation. In six months if he is +, we are going to do the horrible real heart worm treatment but right now I don't have anywhere to keep him crated.
I am at the Vet's office 3-4X a month. Was there this weekend. Vet was tickled that Beagle Chloe lost 4lbs. About 8 more to go!
