Then there is the perennial favorite... I bet you have made this.
3 Bean Casserole
1 lb ground beef or mixture of veal, pork, beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can pork and beans
1 (15 ounce) can butter beans
1 (16 ounce) can chili beans, drained
1⁄2 cup brown sugar
several squirts of catsup or barbecue sauce
1⁄4 teaspoon dried oregano
1⁄2 to 1 teas. spicy mustard (to taste)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Fry meat with onions. Season to your liking. Add pork and beans, butter beans, chili beans, sugar, oregano, catsup and ustard. Mix all together and pour mixture into a lightly greased baking dish.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour, or until bubbly.
Sometimes I melt cheese on the top at the last moment.
Serve with cornbread. Jiffy is good.
