NEW ALBANY -- Investigators searched a home in connection with the death of a pregnant woman a day after her body was found inside a car in Delaware County.

Deanna Ballman was found dead in her Ford Taurus just off Bevelhymer Road Wednesday in Harlem Township. Ballman was nine months pregnant at the time of her death; the baby did not survive.

Thursday afternoon, Delaware County Sheriff's Office detectives searched a New Albany home in connection to the Ballman case. Detectives took pictures and removed several pieces of evidence -- including computers and other electronic devices -- during the search, which lasted more than three hours.

The Turner Close home is owned by an area doctor, who lives there alone. Neighbors said investigators asked them if they had seen Ballman's car in the doctor's driveway on Monday.

Detectives said Ballman's last cell phone hit was traced to an area of New Albany that sits less than a half-mile from the Turner Close home. Investigators said the doctor is cooperating with the investigation.

Neighbors say the Turner Close home was the target of a burglary last year, during which flat screens and laptops were stolen.

Family members tell ABC 6/FOX 28 that Ballman was a good mother -- she leaves behind two children, ages two and three -- and had hoped to open her own dental office in the future.

Ballman was a member of the Colorado National Guard and in the process of transferring to the Ohio National Guard.

The Colorado National Guard said she was a supply specialist with the 220th Military Police.

Detectives spent Thursday searching the home of the person who had requested the cleaning. Investigators were seen removing a computer tower, laptop and a camera.

The home is about 5 miles from where the car was found.

Ballman's grandmother, Sigrid Ballman, told WBNS TV that her granddaughter was in the process of a divorce.

James Ballman told the Columbus Dispatch that his sister had married a man she met online and they moved to Colorado to build a family. But Deanna moved out when she was nearly ready to deliver their third child, the brother said.

She had only been back in her home state for 2 weeks.
7NEWS reporter Lindsey Sablan spoke by phone Friday with Ballman's husband, Mark Huston II, who is an active duty Army soldier based at Fort Carson.
