So what's the deal with the East/West split. I spoke to a Canadian woman one time who felt very strongly that the border ought to be drawn north south. In fact, I had to walk away to get her to shut up about it. What gives?
I think of you guys as a US commonwealth so I don't care either way, but she put a whole lot of energy into complaining about something. Not sure what.
I think that women is crazy. a north/south border, I have no idea what she is talking about. The only east/west coat split is due to the economy, the are always booms out west and a lot of people pick up and move out there for jobs etc, it lasts for a few years, dies down and then starts all over again. I don't know what the pint in a north/south split would be, there isn't much up in the northwest territories, but you can paid a lot of money to work there, as it is so far out, population is low, a lot of places you need a plane to get to, no way to cross some places with a car in the winter and you can get paid extra to actually take a holiday.
The only split I recall ever being talked about is splitting Quebec from the rest of Canada, obviously that will never happen, some resent that fact that Canada is a billingual country and that French is the official second language.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
