Centennial High School Principal Dr. Frank Brown resigned earlier this week amid allegations “had been raised that he had improper, sexual relations with a student while working at McGavock High School in Nashville approximately 10 years ago and that he continued to have improper relations with the now former student (now and adult) while currently serving as a principal at Centennial High School,” according to a report from the State of Tennessee State Board of Education.
It is the second time in little more than three months that Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney has notified Centennial High School parents and students about a school official’s resignation for similar circumstances.
In August Looney notified parents that then-physical education teacher Darren Henrie was suspended without pay amid allegations of improper relationship with a student. Henrie resigned a few days later.
On Tuesday, Looney notified members of the media that Brown, who has served as principal since June of 2010 had offered his resignation. The resignation was affective immediately, but little else was stated about the reasons why.
