I understood many of his pardons and almost all of the 200 that he pardoned had been out of jail for years.

But, I'll never understand pardoning 8 people who had murdered their spouses/partners. Barbour's rationale that they were model prisoners and their crimes were ones of passion =' they were rehabilitated and deserved to get a free pass' left me dumbfounded. I felt so badly for the victims' families whom he sprung it on at the last minute, still do. It was a POS move, no doubt.

Regarding the OP, if there were no more serious crimes than those cited in the article for these 5 senior prisoners, they should be pardoned. Not only because it's fair to them, but why the hell are the rest of us paying to house people who represent no threat to society? Stupid.
