Why is it such a big deal if police set the cabin on fire? They were after a murderer that wanted to kill more people. I think everybody knew police would take this guy out given the opportunity. He killed fellow officers. The sheriff is saying they did not deliberately set the fire in response to accusations they did. Who cares if they did?

I don't think anyone cares in the sense that you mean but we are supposed to be living in a civilized world where the cops are the good guys. What's good about lowering yourself to the standards of those that you are trying to lock up? Personally, I don't care how they got him but if they can't get a hold of someone they have cornered without resorting to fire they probably need a little more training.
