Maybe I'm misunderstanding too.
LaViolette is talking about her experience with intimate partners and families. I have no doubt she knows what she's talking about and that her (published!) continuum chart is fine.
BUT, Travis and Jodi dated for a few months. Then, they occasionally had sex after both had agreed to move on and date others. Jodi lived hundreds of miles away from Travis when she killed him.
Their relationship doesn't even meet the criteria for LaVioltette's evaluation, imo. This such a damn farce.
So, Jodi wanted more than Travis and more than she admitted to him? That's not abuse, it's disappointment. For a sociopath, it's rejection and not allowed. That's the only reason Travis is dead.
Not only did Jodi not try to get away from Travis, she kept initiating contact and traveled to see him. When it comes to sex, she encouraged it and him, even over the phone from hundreds of miles away when they had no partner relationship.
IDK, it's getting to me a little today how Travis is being being so maligned by innuendo (as a precursor to direct accusations) and Jodi is being positioned as the victim. It's so 'effin ludicrous.
Martinez will no doubt be able to make some good points on cross. He'll be able to ask LaViolette questions about Jodi's behavior and actions and ask her if those would meet the criteria for abuse. Big fat "yes"s. I hope he does it very clearly and effectively.
P.s. all of these examples LaViolette keeps giving - on and on. $300 per hour; wonder what that translates into per word?
