Jane Velez-Mitchell is reporting that Jodi's friend (Donovan) has told her that court was cancelled due to Jodi having a migraine. Donovan also says Jodi doesn't feel well because she is being woken up too early for court, at 1 a.m.
JVM or somebody on her panel said that's not the case. The Estrella jail reports that the inmates are woken up between 3 am and 5 am. Jail staff has to feed the inmates who have court that day, do headcounts, process paperwork...and get them all to the courthouse in time for the inmate with the earliest start time (not a taxi service; they all go from jail to court together regardless of when their individual trials/hearings/appearances start).
Pretty standard stuff, AFAIK. Jodi can sleep while she's in a holding cell at the court. I think this is more Jodi bullshit (though most of the lawyers on JVM's panel think it's legit).
More interestingly, JVM confirms that LaViolette is prohibited from testifying directly about Travis Alexander, based upon a judge's order stemming from a hearing back in August. I wasn't aware of that. It explains why LaViolette is simply giving a tutorial and throwing out all of her folksy anecdotes and the irrelevant personal experiences of her other clients.
No other details given about the judge's order on the show; didn't get any relevant internet search results. If anyone's found the judge's order pertaining to LaViolette or knows more, TIA.
