I seriously think my computer has downs syndrome. I spell checked it again and it came up that.

Of course the spell check didn't flag it... complement and compliment are two correctly spelled words.

So yes, it's the computer that has Downs. It has nothing to do with the user being unable to differentiate between similar words with different meanings.
