your opinion of the death penalty

The death penalty should be a deterrent. Until it is broadcast nationally it will not be effective. If people do not see the results that happen when a brutal unthinking murderer is put to the axe they will not be deterred. With DNA what it is today there should be no fine line of the accused guilt or innocence. Only the circumstances should be the deciding factor to live or die.

I think the death penalty should exist even if it does not statistically prove itself out to be a deterrant. I just think if someone can NEVER be an asset to society at large it makes no sense for them to exist anymore.
