I don't know if my son will ever get sponsored or go pro. I don't really care (although buying a deck every month is getting old) but he's reticent to put himself out there. He's only done a few competitions (and he did well) but he gets so damn nervous, it takes the fun out of it for him. I've suggested he submit some videos but he's waiting for just the *perfect* one. Silly.
He's having a great time at Woodward West right now though.
PM me if you want any advice on your son turning pro or if you have any questions about pro skaters.
I was nervous as well when i was doing exhibitions and skate comps my mother sort of pushed me into it. I think some retards think if you can make a living skating you must be an international superstar like fucking Tony Hawk.
I was a cog in the wheel of a skateboarding team that toured around Europe I made a decent living and it helped me pay off my mortgage early that's it, it didn't make me a millionaire pretty fucking far from it. I didn't have my own fashion label or my own line of boards. I wasn't the star of the show or anything, it wasn't a case of “here's the star of the show and the man you've all been waiting for CINNAMON NIMROD!” For fucks sake.
