I find it a tiny bit barbaric.

I understand that. The state takes the violence out of the equation but it's still killing someone.

I'm not against the death penalty but occasionally I have reservations about it, particularly after I've heard of another person being released because of DNA evidence or other things that have come to light. My only concerns lie in someone who was wrongly convicted being put to death.
