PSA: Toshiba Notebooks
#4
Generally we have used Dell for all of our company computers and laptops. They have held up well to INCREDIBLE amount of use. All of our employees work all day and night on the units and we have had little to no problems.

Also, I highly (HIGHLY) recommend paying for the 3 year gold everything service contract. It replaces anything, for any reason. I spilled a drink on my keyboard. computer still worked fine, but keyboard all messed up - they sent me a new keyboard. A power cord stopped working for another person, new one overnighted to us the next day. One of our employees dropped his computer off a table a year or so ago, cracked the screen, broke the casing and generally messed the system up - they shipped an entire new laptop that week. It is worth the expense to have the security for the 3 years.

My laptop is a Dell Latitute D810. It is a widescreen business class laptop that is almost 4 years old now and still runs like a rocket ship. Has windows XP professional and 2 gigs of RAM and it moves as fast as the brand new lap tops we have. Literally the same speed and this includes when we have multiple programs open, including big ones like Photoshop CS3 or Acrobat, etc.

Finally - you always get a person at Dell when you call them and I like that. An actual real person to talk to if needed.
