I just got my son a Toshiba for his birthday. It was fairly inexpensive and since he is only 12 and I didn't want to spend a lot and it was a good deal. So far it has been fine.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and I love it. I too get freaked out by the web cam Duch. My work laptop is an HP and I don't really like it all that much. The keyboard is too flat. I like Dell products. All my own computers have been Dell wth the exception of the one I bought my son. I will upgrade him to a Dell in a few years if he proves to be responsible with the one he has now. :;beat::
