Every one can remember what brought Al Sharpton to national attention. It's taken more than 25 years for a falsely accused white man to be awarded damages in this debacle.

The jurors, who heard from 180 witnesses over seven months, concluded in 1988 that the entire story was a hoax.
They determined Brawley had run away from home and concocted the story.......
Sharpton, now a national figure, has never apologized for his role in the hoax.
