I dare say it is probably the same in the US, but I am not there so I am not 100%. Get with the program soldier, you do understand how the health system works right?
Are you new? I have worked in the insurance industry for 25 years. The first 17 in healthcare. When a lady wants a breast reduction/lift here their doctor has to send in detailed medical reports documenting medical necessity. Severe back and neck strain for example. They also have to send in photos of the breasts. Then the file is reviewed by one if the doctors in the review committee to make a decision. I gave seen plenty of cases turned down. You can't just "ring" up your insurance company and say hey is this procedure covered? And the doctor can't just say its medically necessary. He has to have documention to back it up.
