I did read a little about the proposed legislation and have mixed feelings about it.
It takes a really emotionally-stunted dipshit to post private pics for the purpose of humiliation. It's not fair to do something like that to someone who you once loved (or with whom you were at least intimate).
But, not everything is fair and lovers have been taking racy shots of each other since the invention of the Polaroid Instamatic, if not before. A disgruntled ex could have copied and mailed/distributed photographs to all the neighbors, the church group, the employer...even back then. Some did. The internet isn't required to exact this kind of revenge (though of course it makes it easier and helps the dipshit reach a wider audience more efficiently).
IDK. I guess even though the pictures in question would have (presumably) been posed for consensually, since the posting of them is not consensual, adding yet another piece of behavioral legislation to the law books in accordance with technological advancements makes some sense.
