I think humans sure are curious creatures. A situation arises where we become fearful of an outcome, we create a fantasy to deal with it..

Worried about your own immortality because you didn't get enough out of this life? Never mind, reincarnation awaits! Oh hang on, how do I stay in heaven yet I get reincarnated? Ohhhhhh...my soul stays in heaven...wait, wut?
