I don't know.
He mentioned being neglected in regards to the "late birthday cake" incident several times and always requested racy pics of female mockers, but I don't think he ever mentioned divorce.
Maybe he found your mocking of his pugnacious swing-set photo very very hurtful and he needed in-patient therapy or something?
