Back home . . . never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd enjoy placer mining for gold.

Yup . . . we got a bunch o' nuggets, pickers and flakes. But what surprised me the most was the hunt and not the actual gold.

It was great being back in the "mother lode" country of California.

But sonofabitch . . . it was cooler in Phoenix than it was at the camp, Jackson and Pioneer.

Go figure.
