I refill their food bowl daily, as well as give them fresh water in their bottle. If we were going away for a few days, I would put in an extra food bowl, and maybe one of those water "feeders" that you could put extra water in. If we were going to be gone for more than 3 days, I would probably give my neighbor a key so he can peek in on them.
I have not seen them gourge their food yet. I refill at night, before I go to bed as they are nocturnal. They go to it and eat some, but there is still plenty left in the morning. I may end up getting a second food bowl anyway as one seems to be an alpha and I have seen her push her sister away from the bowl. But her sister does well at pushing back.
