Going by averages, (65-70 plays per game, 12 possessions per team per game), that's still only about 6 plays per series on average. Increasing it from 1 play to 5 plays unless a timeout is called? Completely feasible, but making it for a series instead of a set number of plays attacks the actual goal of players not faking injury for a rest on long drives.
