I feel sorry for Judge Stephens; some of this shit can't be avoided because she doesn't want the state to have to start all over again with Arias by leaving any grounds for successful appeal. Nightmare case.
But, I'm starting to agree that Judge Stephens may be part of the problem. Court is delayed again. Jesus Christ. At this rate, the trials of the Boston Bomber and Aaron Hernandez will be wrapped up and Oscar Pistorius will be outta jail before Jodi Arias' fate is sealed.
The latest:
Earlier Monday, Willmott, filed a petition in the Arizona Supreme Court for a stay of the Court of Appeals opinion, once again arguing that Arias' right to due process and a fair trial outweigh the media's First Amendment right to access (the defense doesn't want Arias' retrial testimony released to media and doesn't want media present for other retrial witness testimony).
Stephens asked that Willmott and her colleague, Kirk Nurmi, consult with her by 4 p.m. Monday to determine whether the jury should return and the trial resume Tuesday.
