The food and drinks are very reasonably priced and you watch the movie from the comfort of a leather recliner while being served your dinner (the food is really good too). Full price for two people with dinner, drinks and a new release movie = 50 bucks. I'll never go to another theater ever again. That's the way to see a movie. Also, free refills on non-alcoholic drinks and gourmet (all natural) popcorn. It's the bomb yo.
I haven't been to a theater in years either but I would DEFINITELY go to a place like that. If I had any motivation, I'd open one here. I think it would be wildly popular.
I don't go to theaters for the very reasons that Sally described. I'm much more inclined to wait and watch a movie in the comfort of my own home as opposed to sitting in a crappy theater where, if you want to drink, you have to "sneak" it in. Stupid.
I think I might read the book and then watch it when it comes out on DVD. I read Unbroken but I'm still looking forward to seeing the movie.
