Defense lawyers have a legal obligation to argue the best possible case in favor of their clients, even if their clients' actions (or alleged actions) conflict with the lawyers' or society's general views on morality.

But, I think you're right about some of the most shit hot defense attorneys -- they don't seem to have any morals themselves which probably makes defending criminals and scumbags easier. Other defense lawyers are really good people who are committed to everyone's constitutional right to a competent defense, especially those who were formerly prosecuting attorneys. Mixed bag.

Publicly posting revenge porn isn't a victimless act. It violates others. I'm so glad Bollaert was convicted. I do wonder if he would have been acquitted had had he not set up the other company charging victims to have their photos removed. I think the blackmail aspect of his actions is what sunk Bollaert's ship.

I guess that the people who do this job, and do it well, are can remain impartial in the face of their moral beliefs because they have a passion for the law and everyone having a right to a defense.

I'm glad he was convicted too. I'd hate to have a loved one go through the shit this guy has put a lot of women through. I'm also glad to see tougher legislation being introduced across the world to deal with this type of shit.
