Closing Arguments Tomorrow
Finally. The retrial started in mid-October.
Arias refused to testify again today because the court wasn't closed to the public. She indicated that she wanted to allocute. Then, she refused to do so unless her testimony was sealed. She and Judge Stephens reportedly went back and forth.
Judge Stephens dismissed two jurors today; no reasons given. So, 14 jurors will be hearing closing arguments and jury instructions tomorrow before they begin deliberating whether Arias will spend the rest of her natural life behind bars or be sent to death row.
I'm hesitant to get my hopes up that it's really almost over -- Jodi's saga is like a slasher movie. The music lowers, you think the end is near, then the killer pops back up again. I hope this will really be put to bed very soon.
