I think prosecutors really need witnesses to talk in order to prove their case against against Adams and Autry. At least at one point, the state was relying on Shayne Austin in that capacity.
I have no way of knowing obviously, but don't believe his defense attorney's story that Austin killed himself because he was wrongly accused of being directly involved or being in-the-know. I think it's more likely he killed himself because he was involved in at least the kidnapping and rape of Holly Bobo (maybe the murder too). If he'd have taken the immunity deal and coughed up what he knew, he'd be a snitch. If he was more involved than what his immunity covered, he'd probably be in jail. In either case, he'd be a snitch with a target on his chest on the outside or the inside.
I wonder if he left a note?
